- What is the main medium of instruction at SEEd Academy?
The main medium of instruction is English. We understand the benefits of bilingualism so we have a 30-minute daily Chinese lesson as well. Bahasa Indonesia is formally introduced to our students from K1.
- We speak Bahasa Indonesia at home. Will my child be able to understand the teachers?
We have experience supporting children who speak languages other than English at home. Our teachers (including our Chinese teacher) use a variety of strategies such as visual aids, gestures, and interactive activities—to help children understand and adapt. Our teachers understand basic Bahasa and will respond to your child accordingly. Over time, your child will naturally pick up English in our immersive and nurturing environment.

SEEd provides quality preschool education based on the standards and requirements of the early childhood education curriculum in Singapore. Our play-based curriculum is designed based on Kolb’s Experiential Learning Cycle. SEEd has a small class size and ideal adult to child ratio to ensure that students receive optimal care and attention

- What is the difference between Montessori method and Experiential Learning ?
Montessori has a defined curriculum with a focus on independence. Teachers guide without interference and emphasise individual mastery of specific skills. Experiential Learning emphasises a cyclical process of learning through experience, reflection and experimentation. Teachers facilitate experiences tied to reflection and application.
The Montessori method fosters independence, self-discipline, and a strong foundation in specific skills (e.g., math, literacy, sensory development) whereas the Experiential Learning approach is excellent for promoting active problem-solving, reflection and the ability to connect experiences to concepts.

Formal reading and writing will be taught in Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2.
